Role Details

The role ensures the accurate, secure, and efficient flow of transactional and master data between systems through the implementation of API-based integrations, REST/cXML services, and file-based interfaces. This position is essential for maintaining operational continuity across the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle, ensuring data integrity, system alignment, and compliance with business and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Design and implement integration flows (iFlows) in SAP PI/PO to support Coupa-to-SAP processes, including:

    1. Purchase Order (PO) Inbound/Outbound

    2. Invoice Receipt & Posting (via IDoc or Proxy)

    3. Goods Receipt Note (GRN) handling

    4. Supplier Master Data Synchronization

  • Bank Interface Integration for payment file transmission (e.g., using SFTP/File Adapter)

  • Develop and configure adapters including REST, SOAP, SFTP, IDoc, RFC, JDBC, and File within SAP PI/PO to enable communication between SAP ERP and external systems like Coupa.

  • Build message mappings (Graphical/Java/XSLT), and apply value mappings, content-based routing, and dynamic receiver determination as per business rules.

  • Handle API and flat file integration with Coupa (e.g., invoices, POs, ASN.

  • Implement robust exception handling, alert frameworks, and message monitoring via PI Runtime Workbench, Message Monitor, and PIMON.

  • Collaborate with SAP BASIS teams for transport management, adapter installations, and performance tuning of the PI/PO runtime environment.

  • Ensure secure communication using HTTPS, SSL certificates, and digital signatures, aligned with corporate IT security policies.

  • Create and maintain detailed technical design documents, interface control documents (ICDs), deployment guides, and support runbooks

Accurate and Timely Data Exchange

All PO, invoice, GRN, supplier, and bank data is consistently and correctly synchronized between Coupa and Oracle systems with minimal latency.

High Integration Reliability and Uptime

OIC interfaces run with >99.9% uptime and minimal manual intervention, including robust error handling and alert mechanisms.

Compliance and Security Adherence

Integrations meet enterprise IT security, data privacy, and compliance standards (e.g., audit trail, encryption, secure APIs).

Stakeholder Satisfaction

Internal stakeholders (procurement, finance, IT) report improved efficiency, fewer data errors,and faster processing times. 

Operational Efficiency

Reduction in manual reconciliation, duplicate entries, or failed transactions due to well-automated and tested interfaces

Technical Competencies

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP PI/PO integration development.

  • Strong knowledge of Enterprise Service Repository (ESR) and Integration Directory (ID) artifacts.

  • Expertise in AEX (Advanced Adapter Engine), iFlow design, and Java-based mapping.

  • Experience integrating with Coupa via REST/cXML APIs, flat file integration and API filters.

  • Deep understanding of IDoc structures, ALE configuration, and SAP Proxy framework.

  • Familiarity with B2B Add-on components (AS2, EDI separator) is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration) is a plus

Required Background:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Or Master’s Degree in Management.

  • Experience: o 10+ years of experience in implementing and managing Coupa solutions. o Strong background in ERP systems and system integrations.

  • Proven experience in working with multiple ERP systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SAP PI/PO Integration.

  • Experience with integration tools (e.g., PIPO, OIC) and APIs.

  • Knowledge of SQL, Java scripting languages, and cloud-based platforms.
